This kind of surname recording is used only with GDL-related personalities. Agree with you that Nesvyžius or Radvila Našlaitėlis in English or Russian looks weird and pretentious especially throw eye of poles, russians or belorussians. However, why we should focus solely to polish form? In parallel existed writing tradition in Lithuanian or Latin i.e. Giedraytis, Giedroyc, Giedrotius..
