That´s a good question. The Lord's Prayer is a good example of such nonsense. There were many different dialects of Old Prussian. So the German priests had the idea to make it into a mixture of all dialects. They believed that it understood then all. But on the contrary, no one understood it. Ultimately, they have taken the dialect of Samland. And later, the Old Prussian language has been forbidden, so it slowly become extinct, it was just the Lithuanian language, because this could be learned by Germans because of written language.
