I know this version. This version is taken from a priori point of view that lithuanian placename is the oldest. I.e. Katyčiai is original name, and German is distorted version of it. Doubtfull. In German language exists diminutive form of nouns. Katyčiai (means small cats) equivalen is Katzchen. Nothing similar. Forms in authentic documents far away from Katyčiai as you can see.
