He was born in Tapiau, which once was half Lithuanian.

In Kurschat's dictionary there is:


KO~RINETI/KO~RINTI = elend und krank sich nur mit Mühe fortschleppen (drag oneself along sick and with pain)

and

KORINETI = Honig sammeln (collect honey)

Both meanings would make sense: honey-collector or cripple.
