Subject: Gumbine - Lietuvos sostine

There are numerous texts of the 18th and 19th centuries in which Gumbinnen is called "capital of Lithuania".

I'm wondering whether there is evidence of Vilnius or Kaunas being called capital prior to Gumbinnen. Otherwise this would be another Prussian-Lithuanian first.
