Spėjama, kad antrasis sandas gali reikšti "kalva, kalnas" nuo lot. collis. 

Versti kalnu galima tik su sąlyga, kad užrašyta su šiurkščia klaida — praleidus priebalsę N (gr. ν).

Tačiau kalva (kaluva, lot. COLLIS, gr. Χιλ) galėjo būti -kalys.

Bet greičiausiai čia užrašytas įprastas -galis, kaip ir Kopgalis, Medvėgalis.
